Public Charity Advisors

The purpose of the Public Charity Advisors program is to connect public charities with professional advisors in the fields of accounting, tax, law and finance who will be willing, without charge, to assist them in single issue matters. It is anticipated that the request for assistance would be for free services for single issues matters that can be taken care of by the professional advisor in a matter of a few hours.

All requests for professional advisors services by non-profit organizations must be made in writing through the Foundation. The Foundation will screen such requests to assure that they fall within the parameters of the program and will attempt to acquire professional advisors from its PCA participants.

"Many charities have found it perplexing to comply with the legal, financial and tax requirements imposed upon public charities.  They frequently either ignore them or attempt to respond without adequate professional advice.  The Eau Claire Community Foundation is in the process of organizing professional advisors into what is being called the "Public Charities Advisors."  The purpose would be to have available to public charities professional advisors in the fields of accounting, tax, law and finance who would be willing, without charge, to assist public charities in single issue matters.  The purpose would be to afford free services for single issues that can be taken care of by the professional advisor in short order.  It would afford the charities the opportunity to call upon these advisors when these issues arise to gain fast, free and competent resolution to these issues.  The program would be run through the Eau Claire Community Foundation for the benefit of all 501(c)(3) charitable entities in the Eau Claire area."
