Ways to Give

The Community Foundation specializes in helping donors develop customized philanthropic action plans for a broad range of assets, using a variety of giving tools. Please contact us if you would like to explore the many possible ways of structuring a gift for maximum benefit.

Ways To Give

Cash— Cash assets are the simplest and most convenient gift.

Credit Cards— Credit card companies charge an average of 3% nationally and 5% internationally. While you receive credit for the entire amount of your gift, the fund to which you are donating will be expensed an administrative handling fee, which is placed in the ECCF Operations Fund, to offset the cost of the credit card transaction. You can also make your donations by check, in person, or by mail to the Eau Claire Community Foundation (306 S. Barstow St., Suite 104, Eau Claire, WI 54701). If you choose to donate by credit card, click the "Credit Cards" link at the beginning of this paragraph or call the Eau Claire Community Foundation at 715-552-3801 to make your gift. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. No matter how your gift is made, we thank you for your generosity.

Appreciated Securities— Receive significant tax savings for you and be more philanthropic than you thought possible.

Charitable Bequests— Naming the Foundation as a beneficiary of your will is an ideal way to create a fund.

Life Insurance Policies— If the protection of a life insurance policy is no longer needed, it may prove a practical, tax-deductible gift.

Mutual Funds –These funds can be excellent assets to contribute to the Foundation. (link to professional advisor tab, assets accepted, Mutual Funds)

Private Foundation Assets— The expense and time of administering a private foundation can become an unwanted burden.

Qualified Retirement Plans— Naming the Eau Claire Community Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or IRA can benefit your heirs.

Real Property— A gift of real estate to us offers an excellent way to unlock the full appraised value of a property, allow for significant tax and economic advantages, and at the same time, build a charitable legacy through support of your favorite causes for years to come.

Closely Held Stock— These shares in a privately owned business are usually owned by family members, top management, and the corporation itself.

Tangible Personal Property— Gifts of tangible personal property include property such as art, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, rare books and stamp and coin collections.

Electronic Funds Transfer—To arrange an electronic funds transfer (EFT), contact financial@eccommunityfoundation.org or call (715) 552-3801.

You can give anonymously. Although it is a great encouragement to see what fellow community members have given, you always have the option to remain anonymous. Donations can be made memory of a loved one and publicly acknowledged.

Get more people involved! We offer individual or group site visits, as well as educational events on estate planning and charitable giving.

Acknowledgements: Donors who give $100 or more will receive letters of acknowledgement that serve as receipts. No matter what your donation amount, though, we truly appreciate your generosity!
